The Liverpool Student Skydivers

The Liverpool Student Skydivers are part of the Athletic Union (AU) at the University of Liverpool. However, despite this, we have members from all of Liverpools’ Universities and also non-student members.

The most common way into the sport is with the RAPs course. Here you start on static line, where your parachute is deployed for you and then progress over a few jumps onto freefall, and then to obtain your skydiving license.

We run a few of these courses throughout the year where we take you up to the dropzone in the lake district with the club for the weekend. We have a bit of a social on the Friday night, you will complete your ground school Saturday and will hopefully jump (weather dependant) Saturday afternoon or Sunday.

After the course club members regularly visit the dropzone and we tend to organise people to go up together. We also attend big skydiving events throughout the year. From here you can progress to complete your license and then progress to doing formation stuff or freeflying.

The cost for the RAPs training is £165 and this includes the first jump, it is around £35 for each jump after that.

As a club we've put around 350 people through the RAPS course, and every single person has gone through with it, and absolutely loved it!
